Missouri State University's New Bookstore Director Gets to Work

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Sonda Ropp Reinartz has officially taken over as the new director of the Missouri State University Bookstore.?

Reinartz replaces Mark Brixey (right), who resigned Aug. 17 amid controversy surrounding missing funds at the bookstore.

"We are excited and looking forward to having Sonda join our bookstore management team," says Dr. Earle Doman, vice president for student affairs. "We are confident that her leadership skills and experience will move our bookstore and affiliate operations forward."

"Reinartz's starting salary is $78,000. She'd?worked as the bookstore manager for Augustana?College since 2006.

She previously worked as the manager at bookstores at Black?Hawk?College from 1996-2006, Hiram?College from 1991-1994 and Case?Western Reserve?University from 1989-91. Reinartz also worked in bookstore management at University of Iowa and as an employee of Follett College Stores at George?Washington?University, SUNY Buffalo and Phoenix?College.

"I look forward to working with bookstore staff to continue to serve the MSU students," says Reinartz.

No formal charges have been filed against Brixey, and Missouri State University refuses to comment on the matter.
