Charlotte County Sheriff's detectives arrested three of four Englewood-area boys allegedly involved in the May 18 theft of a golf cart from Lemon Bay Golf Club, 9600 Eagle Preserve Road.
John Williams, 17, 8370 Roosevelt St.; William Barry Solomon, 15, 2042 Willow Ave.; and Nicholas John Tinnerello, 12, 199 Boundary Blvd., Rotonda West, were taken to the Charlotte County Jail.
Tinnerello was charged with grand theft and was released to his parents. Williams and Solomon were charged with dealing in stolen property and taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Ft. Myers where they will be held for 21 days. A fourth suspect is out of the area and an arrest is pending.
The assistant superintendent of the course reported the value of the 2009 Club Car Turf-2 Carry All golf cart was $4,000. A golf club employee located the stolen golf cart at 8370 Roosevelt St. three days after it went missing and police found it at Solomon's home.
Tinnerello and an 11-year-old boy allegedly took the golf cart and Williams and Solomon were going to buy it. Williams and Solomon reportedly took the golf cart apart, removed the roof, gas tank and put two different wheels on it.
